Kashmir is a year-round destination. Visit late March to April for the Tulip Garden and gardens, June to August for green meadows and comfortable sightseeing, September to November for golden-chinar autumn, and December to February for snow and skiing in Gulmarg.
Five to seven days is ideal to cover Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg at a relaxed pace, with a Shikara ride and a houseboat night. Add a day or two for Doodhpathri or the remote Gurez Valley.
