Four days in Kashmir is a tight window, and the single biggest mistake first-timers make is booking a different hotel every night. Shifting bags between Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam eats up two hours a day in check-ins, check-outs and loading.
This package keeps Srinagar as your base for all three nights and treats Gulmarg and Pahalgam as day excursions. Gulmarg is roughly 50 km from Srinagar (about 2 hours by road) and Pahalgam about 90 km (roughly 2 to 2.5 hours). Both are comfortable day returns. You unpack once, you sleep in the same room every night, and you spend your daylight hours in the meadows instead of at a reception desk.

Detailed Day-Wise Itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Srinagar & the Mughal Gardens
Your driver will be waiting at Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport (SXR), about 14 km from the city. After hotel check-in and a short rest, the afternoon goes to Srinagar’s Mughal-era gardens on the eastern bank of Dal Lake — Nishat Bagh with its twelve terraces facing the Zabarwan range, Shalimar Bagh built by Jahangir for Nur Jahan, and Pari Mahal, which sits highest and gives you the best wide view of the lake at golden hour.
Evening is at leisure. Most guests use it for a shikara ride on Dal Lake or a walk along the Boulevard — both easy to arrange through your driver.

Insider tip: Do Pari Mahal last. The light between 5 and 6 pm across the lake is the shot everyone comes home with.
Day 2 — Gulmarg Day Excursion
After breakfast you head northwest to Gulmarg (2,650 m), a former shepherds’ meadow that is now India’s best-known ski destination. The drive itself is part of the day — rice fields, poplar avenues, and the climb through Tangmarg forest.
At Gulmarg you have the meadows, St. Mary’s Church, the golf course (one of the world’s highest), and the Gulmarg Gondola — a two-phase cable car run by the J&K Cable Car Corporation. Phase 1 takes you to Kongdoori; Phase 2 continues to the Apharwat slopes at around 3,980 m.
Gondola practicalities (verify before you travel): Services resumed on 25 June 2026 after a month-long technical closure, and current notifications indicate maintenance shutdowns on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Reported fares are around ₹810 for Phase 1 and ₹1,010 for Phase 2 per person. Book only through the official JKCCC portal, and confirm live status and fares before your travel date — weather at 3,980 m changes fast and can pause operations even on a clear morning in Gulmarg. Gondola tickets are not part of the package price.

Day 3 — Pahalgam Day Excursion
Pahalgam sits where the Lidder River comes down through pine forest, roughly two and a half hours south of Srinagar. The drive passes saffron fields at Pampore and cricket-bat workshops near Sangam — worth a five-minute stop each.
In Pahalgam itself you can walk the Lidder banks, sit at Baisaran’s lower meadows, or simply take the valley slowly. Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari are the three big-name side valleys, and this is where first-timers get caught out: private vehicles are not permitted beyond a point, and access is controlled by the local union taxi service, which charges separately. Budget roughly ₹2,000–₹3,000 per vehicle depending on the circuit you choose, and always confirm the rate before you get in. Day 4 — Departure from Srinagar

Best Time to Book This Kashmir Package
- March to May (Spring): Almond and tulip blossom, mild days, green Gulmarg. The Tulip Garden usually opens for a few weeks from late March — peak demand and peak hotel rates.
